I covered the wire in black heatshrink, but using black wire would be better 😬 The 52 LED cluster from Maplin here needs a resistor because it's not rated for the 14V from your alternator. I have received "Cor, that's bright" comments from following drivers. A small bracket can be made-up from thin aluminium alloy sheet. The led housing is at an angle, but this helps with alignment on the diagonal bar 😬 A search will reveal the resistor rating.
