Alias
I'm looking at upgrading my car to a 1.6SS. I've noticed on several threads that verniers are a useful upgrade for the SS cams - but the cheapest I've found them is £185! That seems to me to be quite a bit of cash for two alloy wheels. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 1400 Supersport with 6 gears and clamshell wings

Alias
I'm happy with the upgrade process (new pistons, liners and ECU). Rob Walker will be undertaking this upgrade for me. The main reason for my post was to find out why two alloy wheels cost £185! I appreciate some precision engineering has to be taken on these, but even so! ----------------------------------------------------------------- 1400 Supersport with 6 gears and clamshell wings
Jason Plato
dont buy them then - use off set dowels that cost 10p
oilyhands
Ah.. offset dowels are a pig to make, and a pain to fit if the first one doesnt do the job. They cost a little more than 10p.. Quite often the desired lift at TDC can be found by advancing the inlet pulley by one tooth. That costs nothing, just ensure you remark the pulley. Mike Biddle
The reason they cost what they do is because that's what the punters rae prepared to pay.

Paul McKenzie
Is that why nobody seems to be buying the CSR ...It doesn't exactly seem to be the new model on everyone's lips at the moment ...I know if I had £39K to spend it wouldn't go in that direction 😳...that's me out of the Club K. Nick Green
I was at the factory almost a month ago. Was shown around. I would reckon at least half the cars being prepped at the time were CSRs, almost all for European export.
Alias
Isn't the new Cayman about £39k? ----------------------------------------------------------------- 1400 Supersport with 6 gears and clamshell wings
