K-Series Headgaskets!

Silent Blatter

Recommended Posts

Looking for some advice *confused*.... I have a 1993 1.4 K series and it has now reached 33k miles. Engine is still sounding sweet and all is running smoothly, however, I am very aware that k-series engines blow their head gaskets at 33k miles from what I have read?

Should I replace the head gasket before it blows to protect valves etc or do I wait for it to go if it goes at all?

Apologises in advance if this seems such a stupid question, I just drive cars ! ! ! 😬

Talking of cambelts it's wise to replace every 4 years................ & at the same time have a look at the water pump & yes you'll probably get seduced into some sort of upgrade eventually but don't forget the cambelt; if it breaks it causes far more damage than a HGF will cause.
