Legal for class 3?

Just for clarity:

The car has the standard / original air filter, plenum, MEMS ECU, SS camshafts. The head is a standard item from a crashed 1.8 Elise. It has been skimmed (very slightly) but not ported at all. It has standard valves.

As has been said, the forged pistons will not impact performance. I fitted these as an earlier plan was to get up to 200hp; however for various reasons the modifications were taken no further.

For everyone's information, during the rebuild a year ago, the original head was exchanged for a modified ported head which had problems. Therefore the modified one was removed and replaced with the standard ex-Elise item (SS cams from the original head used).

Hence the only issues would seem to be the vernier pulleys (I agree with Mark D on that FWIW) and the single aliminium 52mm throttle body.

For completeness, please note that DVA upped the fuel pressure so that the injectors can feed enough fuel to match the increased airflow through the 52mm TB. The FPR fitted is the standard 3bar item "squeezed in a vice" to compress the regulator spring. It runs at about 3.8 bar currently IIRC.

Hence if the 48mm TB is fitted a new standard 3 bar FPR would probably be required.

If anyone has any questions I would be happy to respond, either here or via blatmail.

Cheers,

Alan
