Swiss_Tony
Is there much difference between flared and cycle wings? We all know that the flared wings look better! James

Robster
Flared wings are like a pair of sails on either side of the car. Sevens are never aerodynamic, but with flared wings, you can feel the engine strain over 70mph, and the front end gets lighter the faster you go! R2D2
I agree with the Clamshells causing drag but I don't think they generate lift. We had a thread about this about a month ago.
Casbar
Robstar, [Flared wings are like a pair of sails on either side of the car. Sevens are never aerodynamic, but with flared wings, you can feel the engine strain over 70mph, and the front end gets lighter the faster you go!] What a load of bo***cks, there is a slight difference in drag, but so small its makes little or no difference up to 100 ish, as recorded the last time we went around this thread. Its a personal choice of which wings are preferred, cycle wings are great if you like to see the wheels bobbing, flared give slightly better weather protection. I have flared wings, with a 160 bhp xflow, and I can assure you that my engine doesn't strain over 70 mph.
Pierre Gillet
After I completed the cycle wings conversion, I had a go on the Autoroute trying to forget the 130 km/h speed limit. I must say that I had the delicious impression of better penetrating into the air! Pierre
Miraz
Had you removed the spare wheel at the time?
