colin carthy Posted November 26, 2001 Share Posted November 26, 2001 removed my micro dynamics ignition system on my 1700 x-flow last year after rolling road test showed it to be faulty. i replaced with points, whilst i considered my options. should i had it tested?? or can anyone suggest an alternative. oilyhands Posted November 27, 2001 Share Posted November 27, 2001 All the systems mentioned above are fine and will do the job well and in the past I have installed and used all of them, the least expensive and easiest to install was definitely the Aldon Ignitor, both the trigger and amplifier are contained inside the distributor which makes it a two wire job to install, its very compact and neat. Taran Las Posted November 27, 2001 Share Posted November 27, 2001 Colin, I have just done the same as you - removed the Micro Dynamics and replaced it with a Lucas Comp ignition from Roger. As Roger states it is a monster spark and a doddle to fit. The Micro dyamics did however have a built in rev limiter which the Lucas doesn't. If you want anymore info feel free to e-mail.
