James Arnold
I have a small crack in my windscreen (heated). Is there anything I can do to prevent it growing? I was thinking that superglue might be drawn into the crack and stop it getting worse. Had anybody tried this? Cheers, James
oilyhands
Drill a very small hole with a diamond tipped drill or carbide drill at the spreading end of the crack, then use some of the repair fluid which has the same refractive index as glass, it is very low viscosity and should/may flow into the crack. Be gentle with the drilling or it may spread the crack. Oily
WILL FLY
I have a 6 inch crack across the bottom RH corner of my screen after yesterday's trip to Donnington, time for an insurance claim I think and a chance to 'go black' smile.gif See willfly.net for more info. If you don't spin you ain't trying smile.gif
stevefoster
Let me know how long it takes to get a new windscreen. Silvershield were hopeless and it took months (May to Sept)! Initially Caterham were out of stock etc, excuses, excuses by Silvershield... I plan to have a plain sheet of laminated glass made to fit the old sreen surround and to run that on longer tours / summer as it will probably be cheap to do. Will keep the heated one for winter use only..
