jackgratton
I've had mine decatted but wondered if anyone has any experience of tuning the engine?
Bob Corb
If you look at the Cosworth website you will see that they can take this engine up to 300BHP. here Get in touch with them, I think the changes required will be a port bored head and revised cams but you may need the steel crank and higher CR pistons too. Only they can tell you for sure...
Rob Walker
I got 280 out of a 2.3 without much trouble. With a little more work 300 should be possible.
rgrigsby
Do you really need more than 256? I've not driven a CSR260 but my 2.3 Duratec is broadly speaking a similar spec and it's seriously quick. Having said that I guess you can never have enough power 😬 As Rob has said I don't think it's going to be too difficult to get more power out of one, it's probably worth a chat with Ammo at RaceCo to see what suggestions he has. I.Mupferit
Wondered how long it would be before somebody started talking about getting even more horses from a CSR 260. 😬 Now 300 seems like a nice round figure doesn't it 🤔 Brent 2.3 DURATEC SV Reassuringly Expensive R 417.39 😬
Ash.Bailey
300bhp will be nice , but I not sure that the 6 speed caterham gearbox will cope . I'm surprised that the 6 speed box can cope with the CSR's 200+ lb torque as it stands . wonk
dannylt
Don't you CSR260 owners find having 6 gears is too much anyway? I have a CR 5-speeder with 250+ duratec and seem to spend very little time in each gear anyway! Is the a torque chart of the CSR260 anywhere yet?
