Who knows the weight of this following equipment :

Heater

Oil cooler

dry sump

and all your ideas

Spare wheel: Minilite "Three Gates Wheels" + Michelin Pilot half worn in 185 60 14: 14kg

 

the following weights are quoted from The newsletter of Caterham cars motorshow 1996:

spare wheel assembly ( incl.carrier): 11.5 kg

tool kit ( for above): 2.8 kg

Seats: pair in KEVLAR (fixed): - 3.2 kg/ composite race buckets

Leather adjustable seats (pairs): +10.8 kg/ composite

Tonneau cover( windscreen type): 1.6 kg

Full carpet set: 3.3 kg

Hood and full sidescreens: 8.0 kg

paint: 2.5 kg

Heater: 3.9 kg

dry sump: + 11 kg

Anticavitation oil tank (wet-sump race):

windscreen and wiper assembly: 6.6 kg

Weight of things 7 I have weighed. (kgs)

Not all things weighed as well as possible but some inaccuracies are of course possible! I have used the same scales for the engines.

Comment the VX looks not so bad compared to the Zetec if you add Starter, oil oh and the water rail too.

VX produces ~10 bhp more in standard trim and more torque too.

VX sits over 1" farther back in the chassis too!

 

Just have to get my hands on a complete K Series now... reported to be about 90 kgs which would be about right if the weight of my car - the VX add the 90 = weight of Jason's 1600SS car!
