Mrs Kipper
Just thinking ahead for possible events for next year. What class would my 1600ss run in in the HSA Speed Championship? Would it be class A3 - Roadgoing Specialist Production Cars up to 1700cc? If so, would I be up against fully tweeked 1600 Ks on TBs and all steel 1700 X-flows? I am assuming as well I would need to run on 1B tyres (now there's a thought 😬) Kipper Fun is not a straight line.
Mike Bees
Class A3 if you're on List 1A. List1B would put you into class D, Hillclimb Supersports Cars and Sports Libre Cars up to 2000cc I think. Yes, you could be up against some fancy engines. Regs are here Mike
barry.h
Yes A3 and running on list 1A (the regulations on the website are incorrect I think). The main opposition is John Palmer with a 1700cc 200bhp Puma engined Westie and Chris Jones in a Westie with a 1600 VX XE with about 180bhp. Others generally are lower down the power band and with a mixture of engines. Mike Bees used to compete in this class as did Steve Day and myself until we moved to different cars, classes or championships. Also Bacon Buttie and Graham Lyall. Lots of different venues including all the main hills. Loadsa fun. Barry
Mrs Kipper
Mike & Barry Thanks for the info. I don't fancy being up against 2000cc stuff so it looks like I can I stick to the 1As. The hills are what interest me. To be honest I don't think I would be that competitive but I would like to say that I have driven Prescott, Shelsley, Gurston etc before I hang up my helmet 😬 Kipper Fun is not a straight line.
