I have tride to cross ref. this no. to a recognised engine fittment. The Lucas no. you gave - does it suit the very latest 1.6K wasted spark 2001? Or can anybody cross re. this magnetti no.? John Posted November 22, 2001 Share Posted November 22, 2001 The Lucas p/n is from the Titan catalogue who make the bellhousing and spacer plate for the starter motor fitting. I would have thought that a good vehicl electrical specialist would be able to cross ref it somewhere. Someone once told me that it was off a Transit of some sort but not sure if this is true. Geoff Dixon Posted November 22, 2001 Share Posted November 22, 2001 My starter went a while ago and I had same problem. Eventually took starter off and took to local factor. He cross referenced the numbers. The original starter as supplied by Caterham came off a Ford Scorpio 2.8 V6. Sold me Lucas one for around £60 ( including VAT) Caterham quoted about £140. Was exactly same design, size, shape etc as the original and works fine. Moral of the story - dont go to Caterham, go to a local factors (not Halfords as they could not help me at all - the one they tried to sell me did not fit at all) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
