Rob Morris Posted August 7, 2005 Share Posted August 7, 2005 Hi, NOt sure what you are referring to as a 9 pin socket, but I have an old Notebook at my mothers...........think it's a P90 or could be a P166...........been dropped once and the hinges on the screen broke, but made a couple of ali hinges which do the job fine just looks a bit of a dogs breakfast.............think its a Tosh or Compaq, but it's been so long I can't remember.....................if it's any use you could have it for £20 I live in Telford, Shropshire? I need one with a 9 pin serial socket to fit a lead like this If your laptop has a suitable socket I'll take it - maybe you could mail me to confirm this and sort details. Collect the Pc from Mums tonight and it booted up no problem......needs a duster running over the outside, but seems okay! It's a 166 pentium running Win95 with nothing else on it.......it does as you would expect have a serial port. One from the front so you can see the screen and one from the rear showing the Serial port and homemade hinges.........Also forgot to mention it has a CD player fitted if this is any help?
