SLR tick over

allegro

Recommended Posts

My SLR is not behaving very well. Rev the engine and the revs stick at between 1250 and 1750 on the way down. This does not happen all the time. I have checked the throttles and are returned to their correct position each time.

Does anything change the mixture at the bottom end of the rev range that could cause this, or is my ECU up the creek question.gif

I am not bothered if it is cause I am changing it. My concern is that it may be something outside the black box causing this.

Thanks for any advise

Sounds like it could be the idle air control valve (IACV) playing up, this is a small air valve that is controlled by the ECU and ensures that the correct amount of air is fed to the engine to maintain a consistent idle regardless of engine load/temperature etc.

On some ECUs it is also used to 'soft land' the engine when the throttle is closed sharply.
