Rear Wing Removal

I am about to remove the rear wing (repair slight track day damage!) and have noticed that some of the retaining bolts are behind an interior panel. I can drill the pop rivits out to gain access, unless there is an easier way ? and does anyone know where i can buy black pop rivits for the interior panels and also few required for carbon wing protector or is it easier to paint natural ones?

Cheers Jason

Jason, see the Rivnuts post.

I had to drill the inner pop rivets out because of a spinning Rivnut (pain but straight forward)

Most cars have nut and bolts from the rear springs backwards (accesible from the boot) and bolts into Rivnuts in front of the springs.

Try the bolts with a spanner - you may be happilly suprised.

Where are you located, Alex?

I may be able to arrange for a brief 'demonstration' in Tipton/Birmingham, which by sheer coincidence puts those M5 rivnuts back into place ...

Get M5 Polyamid bolts for those rear wings !!

(WILL FLY knows where to get those!!)

Saves you *a lot* of aggro and $$$s, they don't pull the alu and sheer before the wing goes south.

Best ! - Karsten
