John Howe
Weirdy, I think its about time you were a big brave boy... and did it yourself. There are plenty of members who will give you advice, loan you an engine hoist or even give you a helping hand. If it is just the CRB, which is a Ford part, then the replacement I would guess as being under a £10. If it is the clutch, then the whole assembly is around £150, though you most likely would only need the friction plate. What milage has the car done and were is it located. If you are really stuck, then you are welcome to borrow my trailer and bring it to the farm but it will mean you will have me looking over your shoulder! Weirdy
John I think you have more faith in me than my wife does... I am NOT allowed to do anything but tinker with Minty, hence being factory built... I think I am game, but NOT solo, although Missus Weirdy will have non of it.... I have no tools suitable, no hoist, no room and less skills..... Thanks for the thought though... 😬 Weirdy Its not the winning thats important, its the taking them apart....... caligarinet
I had very similar symptoms in my K-series MGF, shortly before the bearings in the gearbox collapsed altogether and lost all drive. ☹️ Hopefully worse case scenario, but definately something to consider. Hope its something simple. Forum for Lotus and Caterham 7's in Scotland and the North of England
