What benefit if any will I derive from upgrading the std exhaust at the same time and how much will this cost me in addition to the ss upgrade . The Competition exhaust is said to improve the performance , but I dont think there has been back to back tests performed . It would be worthwhile in preparation for future mods , where the std zorst would restrict power potential . I may result in you losing your cat converter . Previous threads have suggested that the standard exhaust is no good if you are going down the power upgrade route, but maybe the standard exhaust is ok with the standard SS engine? Lennie Posted November 14, 2001 Share Posted November 14, 2001 The competition exhaust does make a difference but only at the top end and then not by much. if you have SS the difference is even more as the rev limit goes up from 7000 to 7600. Delberts Wallet Posted November 15, 2001 Share Posted November 15, 2001 I've changed to the 4-1 comp exhaust and found that the mid range was improved. Made overtaking in 3rd much better IMHO. I've got a standard 1.6k at the moment but will be upgrading next week to SS. I've got the ECU in so its the Cams next week. Romar,Yes the engine rev limit is increased to 7600.
