Slicks -Radial vs Xply

Petrolhead

Recommended Posts

This is based on Avon radials, not Michelin, but I don't see why this should make a huge difference.

Rears need about 1 degree negative so use .25 ears and shim them if the tyres aren't being fully worked.

Fronts should be about -2 to -2.5.

Check temps to make sure all the tyres are getting fully worked accross their surfaces.

Info originally from BMTR and passed on to me by a kind radial slick using Blatchatter *thumbup*

Must get the Gigabusa finished *smile*

I thought the radial slicks need more -ve camber than the stiffer sidewalled crossply slicks.

Incidentally, Slipperman used to use Michelin radial slicks and I could keep up when he had those. Now he's on the Avon ones and he's going so much faster and I'm generally just in his way!
