Aluminium

I just finished painting mine. What a nightmare.

I think you will need to remove the rivets from the cockpit sides and mask the lami-plate otherwise you will see plain ally between the rubber seal and body.

You will need to remove all of the tonneau and hood fastners.

Masking will be tedious but important. many of the small cut outs on the body sides near the front of the engine bay can be done with a paint on water soluble mask bought from a good trade paint supplier. ( Halfords sell a cheap one but it is poor and difficult to remove)

You need to decide the type of paint, cellulose, acrylic or twin-pack.

Etch Prime the ally before you use high bulid primer. Don't flat the etch wait until you have apllied the high build. Flat this with 1600 wet and dry.

The final finishing will depend on the paint.

Good Luck its a real b**l ache.
