as part of my 'track days on a budget' masterplan, i have saved my last balding set of a021rs for a track day t(h)rashing... but i need some wheels to put them on...

i don't really want to spend money on alloys, so steels will do, 'cos i'm not going to do much track day stuff...

which wheels do i need ? a few people have vaguely said, " oh yeah, you need old escort wheels.... " but i really need to know exactly what to look for. or can i get alloys just as cheaply ?

can ya'll hayulp me please ?

Try BMTR on 0121 331 1122 and speak to David or Paul in the racing dept. Several years ago (approx 10 I think) I needed a set of cheap wheels for my sprint tyres (live axle Ital) and they stocked (at that time) FF wheels that were 3.75 pcd and the right offset. Brand new, I think they were £15 each. Worth a phone call I think.

cheers paul...

help me out here... i know what 'offset' is.. ( i've seen arnie's car ! ) and i've just found in the archives that 'pcd' is pitch circle diameter.. but what exactly is that ? can i assume that you have helpfully supplied me with the 'pcd' that i need ?

Tried to reply a bit back but the system crashed. John has given a simpler explanation than I wrote, even I could not understand mine. The figures are Ital 3.75" and Ford (live or de-dion) 4.24". If you get the wrong wheels they simply will not fit. I once saw a Seven that had had the stud holes on the spare elongated, frightening or what (this was not the cars biggest problem).
