Spitting 40's

Noticed in the garage today that there was some occasional spitting from the area where the 40's are fixed to the inlet manifold. Just a fine mist on both carbs. Never noticed this before. Does it mean that the o rings need replacing or that the carbs need tightening. Its a 1700 x flow.

It sounds like the rings.

The moulded in to one type are more reliable but will wear out eventually...

I found out that they only do a 45 carb size one piece ring and this caused

a reed effect sound from the air expanding and contacting again as it past that

I could not live with and I went back to the old style with new rings.

The sound was very loud and nasty!

I have 45's now and they 45 rings work fine...
