Myles
There's nothing to it, is there? I'm guessing it's probably a good idea to open the fuel-filler to depressurise that (hot day...) and then just have at-it... I understand the torque-settings are very low - aside from that....? No PTFE tape or similar? Project Scope-Creep is live... Alcester Racing 7's Equipe - 🙆🏻™ Alcester-Racing-Sevens.com
shn7
Do you need to depressurise the high pressure side though? Just a though as surely the tank is at atmospheric (or there abouts) whilst the line after the pump will be at several bar. Or does that leak down back to the tank when it's all switched off? Steve. Myles
Good point... I;ve just checked Haynes - depressurise by undoing the fuel-filter nut... Heh-ho. I'm about to give it a go anyway... mav
Torque settings for what? just make sure it is not leaking when you re-pressurise the system...
Dave McCulloch
Or for a less messy way to de-pressurise, pull out fuel pump fuse whilst engine is idling - releases most of the pressure. Dave
Englishmaninwales
changed mine last winter- It certainly needed changing, after removal I blew through the filter outlet- loads of crud came out.
