Tazio Posted November 9, 2001 Share Posted November 9, 2001 After 6 years my original Motorcraft ( Exide) EMF002R battery has finally cried enough, so I have to bite the bullet and replace it. Seems I have little choice than the Banner 53034 or a Redtop, my question is does anyone know the CCA ( Cold Current Amps) rating for the Banner, as my original Motorcraft ws rated at 310 Amps, and I am concerned whether the Banner will have enough puff to turn my baby over.... The Banner should turn over your engine it turns my tuned 1.8K no problem and it has 11.6:1 CR £20 its yours, I am in Bristol. EFA Posted November 9, 2001 Share Posted November 9, 2001 Rob, I think you may find Taz's VX has even more than 11.6:1 Besides that, the Banner spins a VX well so long as you have the smaller Valeo starter. With the big Bosch starter (identified by an extra mounting plate on the back) it does struggle a bit on my engine. I currently run around 11.9:1 compression ratio. I would imagine your engine is similar to this.
