JasonL
Bit of a numpty question but I am currently fitting my boot cover using the self tapping screws provided by CC but they don't seem to want to go in very far. Is there a knack to screwing these in? Thanks 1.6 Vx (Blydenstein) for sale detailshere due to new R300
Mr Locust
You did drill a small hole first didn't you? Ian Green and Silver Roadsport 😬
JasonL
No - should I have as there are already holes in the top of the bulkhead for the screws and there's no mention of drilling in the build manual ??? 1.6 Vx (Blydenstein) for sale detailshere due to new R300
Frying Pan
I had to enlarge the holes slightly. A couple were then too large, and I used some ty-wrap offcuts (several hundred on the garage floor by this stage ) to 'tighten' the holes. Guy See some pictures of the build here. 6000 miles completed!
Mr Locust
Should be ok if you are spotting the holes Ian Green and Silver Roadsport 😬
Chris W
I found the holes easy to spot as they were full of air and were not made of metal 😬 2003 1.8K SV 140hp see it here

susser
Chris That's a fantastic technique for hole spotting. I can't wait to try it out. It's so much more elegant that the poke, thud, poke, thud, poke, no thud system I had been using.
