Dave Barrow
For sale in Cheshire my much loved Superlight 175 v high spec no upgrade costs to suspension and Competition spec engine internals means cheap power upgrade with additional strength built in already. Car and engine (hence internals upgrade) was rebuilt by Freestyle about 6000 miles ago so better condition than you would expect on mileage of 14k Motorsport 1 small dent on drivers side engine panel but otherwise spotless - no chips on rear and front wings or nosecone. New painted rear drivers wing and new undrilled cycle wings still in box. We have all read how good the CSR pushrod handles our roads much more stable than traditional set ups mine has the full Freestyle treatment so more stable SV footprint, tons more grip, and v hard to unsettle. Spec as follows - Body Ferrari Rosso red FIA Roll Bar Leather interior Carbon Dash, Big red starter button, Shift lights 4 Point harness x 2 Full weather pack, tonneau and heater Armor Fend on wings and door protection on the bonnet Carbon wing protectors and 7 grille Chassis powdercoated Suspension - Completely height, bump rebound, camber and tracking adjustable 😬 Freestyle ‘superwide’ pushrod SV rear dion Avo adjustable dampers Freestyle roadhandling springs Freestyle rear diffuser Caterham large brake upgrade 13” Anthracite 8 spoke with CR500 rubber LSD Engine bay 1.8SS comp spec (not all superlights had the comp spec) Forged pistons, Comp spec crank bearings, lightened flywheel Lightweight al radiator Apollo Anti Cav tank Upgraded starter motor 6 speed box (Redline MTL filled v smooth) 4-2-1 polished with cat Flat floored for 86 Kg Such a balanced progressive car amazing grip awesome turn in no nasty surprises at the limit and so much smoother on our bumpy roads takes a lot to up set it best seen on a hard corner hitting a pot hole it just does not effect it. A number of magazine articles written on it's set up other BC members can confirm this car's abilities. SV footprint dimensions slightly wider front all that extra grip and stability better under braking etc etc. Car located in Cheshire pictures available either mail thru BC or to dm.barrow@virgin.net or call 07963 452 187 / 01663 762 008 Car now passed it’s first MOT but now due 6000 mile service so reduced price. £16995 ono Dave B Superlight No.175 Freestyle superwide Pushrod SV rear and aerofoil mmmmmmmm! Steve Robinson
Can anybody confirm if these engine mods would be allowed in class 3? Steve
Mark Durrant
Steve From the information listed the engine mods would permit this car to run in Class 3. What you should check is that the head is standard (no porting), it runs the Mems ECU, Supersport cams, standard plenium and throttlebody as fitted at the factory. Dave Barrow
Totally standard only the Caterham comp spec internals listed installed so the head has not been touched and cam / ECU is as 1.8ss. If this is allowed in this class it would be a large advantage as there is a great deal more grip and balance than on a standard superlight set up and footprint. Dave Barrow
Mails sent let me know if I have forgotten anything 😬 I would suggest to all Len Unwin of Freestyle Motorsport is the best person to speak to to understand what the car is capable of why it has so much more grip, balance, turn in and is so much smoother etc than any other traditional set up. I know it sounds cocky such a claim but other BC members have made similar comments and there are independent reviews.
