I'd be slightly worried about uneven pad-wear (the force looks like it is applied to the top of the pad - rather than in the middle) - but as long as the mechanism releases fully, I guess this shouldn't be a problem. My point about the uneven wear is pretty-much irrelevant, on reflection - if the mech is badly adjusted and doesn't fully release pressure - it doesn't matter what the design is... Peter Carmichael Posted June 6, 2005 Share Posted June 6, 2005 I'll be looking closely at the brake setup on my new MG ZT-T when I take delivery on Wednesday. Apparently the twin pot rear brakes are sourced from AP Racing and there must be a handbrake solution in there somewhere. WILL FLY Posted June 7, 2005 Share Posted June 7, 2005 This is the same as the rear brakes on an Isuzu Trooper, a bit overkill for a seven though ☹️ As for mechanical assistance I'm sure some one could design a remote set or levers which the cable pulled on and the levers in turn pulled the cables to the plates.
