Bleeding 4-pots - inside nipple first?

Recommended Posts

Meant to ask this earlier - my HiSpec 4-pots have two bleed-nipples each - one for each pair of pistons...

...any preference for which to bleed first? Inner (hose-side) or outer?

My best-guess is to do the inner first - otherwise any bubbles there might be transferred to the other side and it might not be possible to get them all out???

According to the build manual it is inboard first. This is for AP 4 pots but I can't see why it would be different for the Hi-Spec ones.

Yep, I did the inside first - it took quite a few attempts though to get a nice firm pedal though, I tended to go for a few miles run and then do then again, and so on.

I also had a load of red grease that got washed out with the fluid, which was a good indication of when you are getting fresh fluid.

More on my site.
