Engine bay photos VVC

Hi,

Has anyone got any photos on-line of their VVC engine?

 

Mine's not starting after putting the enginre back in and I need to check a few wiring connections.

Have just installed a VVC into what was a 1400SS (and so been down the route of wiring!). What is it doing/not doing?

Kevsta,

The fuel pump isn't starting, and there's no life in the starter motor.

On attempting to start there is a relay click but no solenoid and no starter action.

What vintage is your VVC 🤔

 

If it's an EU2 then you can look here

 

The later models had a different MFRU (mine is 1999). There are some tips on this site on bypassing relays etc to check for pump operation/starter problems.

P.S I am currently adding a step by step proceedure for servicing the tappets, hope to be finished by end of May.

Tom, I have no idea whether it's EU2 or EU3. Where can I find this out?

There should be a single thick purple wire that connects to a spade terminal near the ECU check this is connected. Also check your inertia switch is reset.

All fixed now, I'd simply got some crossed wires!
