david nelson
Has anyone been to Elvington for a sprint? does anyone know the course and any vidio about of it? David
DSL
No not me, but I think John Powell (silver R400 Jap reg no) said he had been there for an air field track day some time ago. No doubt the course for us guys will be slightly different to the track day route. Just have to learn it on the hoof like Longcross!
john powell
David, as DSL says I have done an airfield day there.I understand that the sprint circuit is not to dissimilar to this. I don't have any footage but can tell you it has a long straight (120),75 mile an hour 180 degree hairpin and lots of other twisties. Problem I found was that main runway was normal tarmac with great grip, then you get on to the twisties and its the normal airfield concrete, no grip whatsoever. I had a hoot when I was there as you can really hoon it, as there is plenty of run off. Roll on June 11th. John. P.S A24 owners get ready to purchase new set after. I killed a new set of CR500's in a day 😳
robmar
after hearing other tales of 'abrasivness' I was planning to run cr500's not the acb's rob
Area Representative Richard Price Posted May 17, 2005 Area Representative Share Posted May 17, 2005 Have you seen these layouts?here(at the bottom of the page) and here I guess there are lots of cones - I'd better start saving for new wings 😬
john powell
Yep, thats it but it has been dumbed down with Chicanes. Like you Rob I think I will opt for the cheaper CR500 option
Adrian Williams
David I found a video clip but it doesn't look like the same course, this has a very long start straight bit I'll mail it to you anyway. Adrian
