New Cat
I have a low mileage, smooth running 1.7 X-flow car with Caterham 'Competition' side exit exhaust. It needs to be <= 103db at 3/4 max revs at 0.5 metres. Is this likely ? Thanks
Big Brother
Probably My silencer is shot to pieces and needs replacing (too many pops, bangs and flames 😬) I was tested at Goodwood recently = 104dB@3/4 revs so I guess you will be OK Steve SE7EN-UP! strongy
Best I ever managed was 115db with an exhaust with all the packing burnt out of it. 😬 Strongy, Fekkin working

DW
What's low running? Mine was 106Db after 14k miles. David 1700XF: click here
New Cat
Thanks guys, Motorsport Events have assured me over the phone that it will be fine. Should be able to get my hands on a meter soon anyway, for future reference. If and when I'm feeling flush I may get a Raceco anyway.... while I like the noise, its loud on long journeys even with earplugs! FYI: The car has done about 14k miles, but I'd guess only about 6 or 7k on this engine.
