Sump Information Required

There's gotta be someone out there who can help me.......

Currently - with crappy tyres and crappy Xflow - I have a problem with oil surge around RH corners. Having a higher oil level in the sump definitely helps, but there's a limit to the amount that will stay in there before it's all transferred to the catch tank!

I'm putting together a higher spec engine and can't really afford to wreck the bottom end due to oil starvation, soooo.....what I'm really looking for is some guidance on sump design. I've got the equipment to fabricate a sump, but it's the baffling detail and pick up location that are critical to whether it works or not. I've seen the Caterham XF sump that is shallower and slopes up to the crank pulley, and I've also seen a large rectangular cast ally XF sump - I've not seen inside either of these though.

Does anyone out there have details on a sump that works or some generic info on putting in trap doors etc etc? Any info greatfully received.

If you can send me photos or drawings directly, pls send them to rgrilli@jaguar.com

Thanks in adavance (hopefully!)

Ray
