Normans_Ghost
I'm being quoted £106 for 195/45/15 and £115 for 245/45/15 from Avons dealer in Birmingham. So, with fitting, balancing and VAT I won't get much change from £500 Norman Verona, 1989 BDR 220bhp, Reg: B16BDR, Mem No 2166, the full story here (tick the little box if I want answers) Edited by - nverona on 8 May 2005 19:15:
Ian R
Try www.buyatyre.com, they seem the cheapest for 175/55x13 CR500s as I'm about to get some! Ian VX Power
paulyb
Have you tried George Polley 🤔 Can't remember the price but I got some last year and seemed to be the cheapest. Next day delivery to
Mad7ner
Nverona if the Avon dealer is BMTR(sounds about the right price), that is where we get the Cr500 from, but fit them ourselves. I don't think there is much difference in the price of cr500 from any dealer, they tend to price them about the same. Gasmaninaseven
Norm, I ended up buying from Caterham Midlands- saved about £10 per corner fitted against BMTR. Neil
Normans_Ghost
I sent an enquiry to Avon Racing and got the Birmingham dealer ring back. I'll ask Caterham midlands in the morning. I asked George Polley about cr500's and he said A048's were better. I thought George was Yokohama only. Normans_Ghost
Ian, sorry, I wasn't ignoring you. I was with BookAtrack at Elvington yesterday and they didn't have any CR500's with them. Jason Plato
I recieved exactly the same price inc vat & postage from both BMTR and avon racing for some recent ACB10's . The racers only get about 8-10% off , but only for race series tyres AFAIK . Dave
Ferrino
So how many different compounds of CR500 are there? Is it just 'road' and 'race' flavours? Bite me 😬

Normans_Ghost
Shin, Yes the 245 go on the rears 8" (nearest fit for CR500's) PH, They quoted £90 for the 195/45/15 Caterham are £32 cheaper for the fronts and same price for rears as BMTR. They only have them on wheels so are splitting them for me. In the meantime engines coming out again in the morning as one of the centre plates is nearly stripped again.
