bigfoot
My car is at James Whiting today for a service and MOT. Had a phone call to say that it has failed on the co emission ☹️ The figure gets worse on the fast idle reading. Quick call to Simon at Caterham who suggested that James checks the throttles are balanced, the car only having the Supersport-R upgrade done 3 months ago. What i'm after is advice if it still fails on the 2nd attempt. Obviously i'll contact the factory again first, but what would be the next best thing to do? All suggestions welcomed. Bare
Dunno about where you've taken your car.. but mine gets it's mixture 'errr.. 'adjusted' for emmisions compliuance immediately prior to testing then readjusted back moments later :-) as an expected part of my Mech's service.. No big deal.. always took this service it for granted. Apparently all Mechs are not created equal.
bigfoot
Update - James has balanced the throttles as recommended by Simon at Caterham and all is well. The car has now passed He also re-routed the throttle cable as it wasn't taking the best route. Graeme
