Repair of CF nose

Adam

Recommended Posts

Managed to get a nice "tear" in my CF nose. Given the cost of a new one, Id like to try to patch-up the damage.

I was gonna use some glass fibre body repair kit from Halfords ... just throught Id ask if anyone has tips/better ideas before I start.

Cheers

"If you use the right resin then getting a strong repair isn't an issue"

Have to argue here Mike, it'll always split apart, because the original resin was prepreg. Rigid parts can be fixed together with special epoxy resins, but even then the joint is the weak part.

Adam, sorry about the late posting... been away, I used to be involved building hi tech racing yachts in my previous life, couple of outfits in the SW can deal with your problem, though its a small job if you e.mail me off line I'll send some suggerstions, probably Green Marine in Lymington are the best.
