F355GTS
I thought I'd check to see which one my current engine was running and found a steel one, having read previous threads I have fitted an SBD Nylon item and now have some unusual readings (Stack sender) Previous Hot idle circa 30psi/ 2 bar, 3k revs circa 65psi/4 bar Now Hot idle circa 25psi/ 1.6bar, 3k revs 110psi/7+bar and rising I guess the new nylon one is sticking wheras the supposedly unreliable Steel one was working OK Mark Edited by - F355GTS on 1 May 2005 21:01:
StewartG
There's nothing wrong with the steel ones, just clean it up and polish it nice and shiny and stick it back in. In my opinion the nylon ones can chafe (spelling) and cause the problem they're supposed to cure.
EFA
Mark, I agree with Stewart. The SBD items do not resolve the problem. You have to accept the std VX part is a servicable item. That said, check the sender screw connection is tight!
I reply to every thread
Servicable.................but obtainable. I too had awful problems with the nylon set-up very similar to those you describe
