John Whyman
Yes they do. Kwik fit Euro 2000's 185/60/14 own brand. As good as the bridgestones 250 and much cheaper. Bit exciting in the wet though! Happy Motoring. thumbsup.gif C7 WJW.
Ted_7
Ahem, I didn't mean "that" cheap though ;) To give a refernce I'd like something that costs 40£ for example...
Drumster
Ted_7 not your size, but.....Yoko 21r 185/70/13 £40m inc VAT from George Polley
Ted_7
Yaeh, I should buy 13" wheels ... But for the moment 14" is the size I keep... What About Good Year ? Bridgestone ? Any good tires there ?
R2D2
Cheap, good tyres? Sounds a bit like the Holy Grail. I agree with the comments about A021Rs and 13" wheels, best value around.
Ted_7
Ok, let's replace "cheap tires" with "not-too-expensive tires"... Any idea of the price for the 021R in 185/60/14 ? Are they less expensive in the UK ?
philwaters
Not sure about price, but a friend has recently tried to get 021's in that size and was told by Yoko Uk that they are winding down production for the year (for the winter) and won't be making any until next year. He ended up getting some 032's and is very happy - but they are not cheap. Phil Waters "Darling, DO you love the 7 more than me?" "Driving OR Fixing?" WILL FLY
I have 5 part worn Avon ZV1's in 185/60-14. They've still got about 4mm of tread on them and will last a lifetime. These are original equipment tyres for a Se7en. See willfly.net for more info. If you don't spin you ain't trying smile.gif
Paul Turner
The tyre choice from list 1A (hillclimbs and sprints) for 13" & 14" wheels is the Bridgestone Potenza RE720. The 185/60 x 13 is approx. £35 + VAT, would expect the 14" to be about the same. Personally I have found this to be an excellent tyre of its type, if you want something sticky there is no substitute for the Yokos etc.
Ted_7
Someone can tell me what tires are on that Se7en ? here
Miraz
Could possibly be NCT2 - the tread is not really clear enough to make it out... Miraz
Ted_7
And is it a good tire the NCT2 ?
Graham Sewell
The NCT2 is a great tyre if you drive a Honda Civic! However, like the Michelin MXTs originally fitted to my Seven, they will not get warm enough to work properly! Cheers, Graham
Miraz
I used to have them on an old (1981?) BMW 323i - and thought they were great tyres, but agree that they would be much too hard for something lighter. Miraz
Bricol
W.r.t the piccie of the tyre on the seven - could be Yoko 509 - swirls look too far apart for NCT2 (which were unbelivably crap on the back of an Alfa 75 TS but rather good on the front). Ted_7
Tup, looks like it is Yokohama 509, but do those tires exist in 185x60r14 ? i've only found 195x60r14. Can I put these on my 14" wheels ?
Jam Mad
yoko a021r's are £58 each from polley's ( cheers steve ! ) in 185/60/13 including vat, fitting, balancing, etc. i also called up a couple of dodgy south london dealers who quoted me about £55 but then turned out to be a little too dodgy for me to buy from, wot with polley's being so highly recommended. g'luck. top tip, just keep your old ones and then if cash strapped, 'cos i am too, buy some steel wheels for the rare track day t(h)rashing !! j wink.gif
philwaters
I have been running with A510's for a couple of years. They are not the stickiest out there but a lot better than your average and they were pretty cheap. I think they were £37-£38 per corner. Not sure if they do that in 14" though. You might needthe A520 for that size and I don't know how good they are. Phil Waters "Darling, DO you love the 7 more than me?" "Driving OR Fixing?" Dan J
Only 2 weeks ago Polleys quoted me £51.62+vat all in (inc. fitting, valves & balancing) for 185/60 x 14 A021R's (i.e. £206.48+vat for 4) Dan
John Vine
That's exactly what I paid per tyre about a month ago (£303 for 5, including VAT, fitting, balance, plus a dissertation on the merits of racing an old Mazda--or was it a Toyota?). Mr P offers excellent value, and beats other quotes by a huge margin. And he takes good care of your wheels. JV
