Bluebottle
How do I get rid of tiny scratches/blemishes/discolouration in aluminium. These are not deep scratches, just need a mild abrasive/polish to get that near mirror finish....thks guys
Simos
Brasso is a good general abrasive polish for smoothing out surface irregularities, Autosol is a good finishing paste. There are plenty of others.
domster
Autoglym also do one. Be careful as it is difficult getting surrounding areas to match. I remember once starting on a small patch on the bonnet and having to do the whole thing! Even bought a polishing pad for the drill, but it wasn't much good. I think I resorted to brillo pads in a moment of frustration - not recommended sad.gif Rgds Domster
Jason Plato
I've used dril attachments made by Mr Fastener , these come as complete polishing kits including various grade 4 & 6" buffing mops and grades of polish . Each side of the car took about 1.5 hours and produced a mirror finish . Previously I swore by Alubelgom and elbow grease - theres no going back to that now . The kits are available from M&P Motorcycles ( do a search ) from around £4 for a single mop > £25 for a complete kit . dave
