pete east
The standard gaskets can let go relatively quickly, however I have found a technique which makes them last a bit longer is to tighten the manifold bolts once or twice after fitting but when the engine is hot. If one tightens the bolts as much as possible when the engine is cold you will find that you can get another 2 or three turns out of the allen bolts once the engine is hot, Doing it this way my standard gaskets last about two years. Leadership Team RogNeedham Posted July 19, 2005 Leadership Team Share Posted July 19, 2005 Pete I use the same technique with copper gaskets from 7Workshop and together with the support bracket (see above) - mine have lasted 3 years worth a look Rog
