captain chaos
What tolerances can I work to for deciding if I need new discs. The current ones have been on the car since new, about 12,000 miles done now, and I was wondering if there was a measurement i could make to indicate the wear rate? (Vx, big brakes all round) Thanks
JAG
Disc thickness is usually specified on the disc. Something like; "Min Thickness 10" That would be about right for a 12mm thick solid disc. Check yours - the marking can be anywhere on the disc. Perhaps on the disc edge or marked on the bell somewhere. Justin A closed mouth gathers no foot. Paul McKenzie
Markings are on the disc edge which is great when they're new, but illegible a week later Specs. posted recently by someone who appeared to know were: New 10.16mm = 0.400" Min 8.3mm = 0.327" Edited to say ignore the above..which is for standard discs, not big 'uns 😳 Paul Edited by - Paul McKenzie on 11 Apr 2005 18:23:
