db
I have the autocom system in my Seven. I'd like to bluetooth my phone into it as the cable solution creates a lot of static. Has anyone bluetoothed their phone in successfully to the Autocom box? (also posted in chitchat) My ... Preciousss! Member #109**
Mick Burrell
Is the Autocom bluetooth enabled? For what it's worth when I fitted my unit I wired it in to an ignition fed live feed. It picked up a lot of static & interference from the car's electrics. Disconnected it and run it from a Duracell - lasts for ages and no noise. db
The issue is finding a bluetooth receiver that will input / output using a 3.5mm male jack or a 2.5mm female jack. The static is definitely caused by the connector on the phone -- I am on my third replacement from autocom... My ... Preciousss! db
FYI - From Rich at Autocom (what fast and helpful chaps they are) "You can run our Parts 55.5 and 55.6 to get yourself running Bluetooth. We are using the module and power lead from a Nokia car kit (CK-7W) and an interface lead that we have developed to link everything together with our systems. The kit retails for £120 and works with any Bluetooth Nokia so your 6230 will work fine. Performance wise we have tested the set up on a bike at just under 130mph and the call was nice and clear both ways so you will not loose any performance by running Bluetooth." My ... Preciousss!
