henry21p
716 miles total blatting in the 21 that weekend, including the track day. 143 pounds. 113.32 litres of fuel 24.92 gallons um - 28.7 miles to the gallon? that can't be right.

neil.cavanagh
Its a thirsty K... mine was averaging about 33mpg for the weekend! and I was being pretty 'spirited'!! Now, my record is £150 of fuel in one day... 710 miles in an Impreza Turbo... average of about 21mpg from North Coast of Scotland to Bucks in 9.5 hours. henry21p
someone vouch for me that there was no wussiness involved. I think the long motorway runs up to shrewsbury from the south east and back again helped a lot.
Lynne
At least it was money spent on the 21..................................so no complaining you 😬 😬 Lynne(HM) a 21 sitter 😬 PENNILESS WIFE (HUBBY GOT ALL THE MONEY TIED UP IN THE CAR) AKA HM
neil.cavanagh
Dave was certainly making some pretty rapid progress when traffic and the roads allowed! These K-cheese blocks are a LOT more economical than x-flows and vx. As shown by ChrisB getting through 1/2 a tank of fuel per 20 min session on the track, where as a full tank lasted me pretty much all day! (ok, the SV fuel tank is 10L or so bigger...) henry21p
now got a dilemma.... the 21 is more fuel efficient even when drivin in a spirited fashion than the ford escort. and it's cheaper to insure. and it leaks less. why aren't I driving the 21 more? why is it in storage again? neil.cavanagh
'cos it don't idle? and your fat SV sized friends find it really awkard to put on the seatbelts!! 😬 😬
Dannyboy
Same problem as I've got dave....My 1.4 Escort does around 30mpg....The seven, even with the 1.8 now fitted averaged 37mpg on the treck back from Cambs.... Dannyboy
neil.cavanagh
yeah... and my 4.4L tintop averages 24mpg... compared to the 33-5 of the SV!
Hibster.
Hmmmmm Not a problem for me, I get 45mpg out of the Leon and 32 from the Seven Supercheese R250 Caterham pictures here 😬
henry21p
I reckon if i was to deduct the blatting parts and view the "ordinary driving" parts I think my MPG would be MUCH higher. Bear in mind that I was 2 up in the car with a boot full of stuff. But I suppose as motorway driving in the 21 is a little more aerodynamic than the 7, it SHOULD be better. mav
We went through about 37 litres of fuel - track only, and I spent no longer then 10 mins on track in any hour... Viv was giving it some 😬

Lee
Did anyone else pick up a speeding ticket immediately after leaving the Anglesey Arms on saturday. Or was it just KayCee! 😳
chrisb
What is the country coming to? Police leaving speeding tickets lying around for anyone to pick up - tut tut
henry21p
speeding ticket? they were stopping you, or just a nip through the post?
KayCee
Got the ticket through the post ☹️ Most annoying thing is I have no idea where they were! I seriously did not see them (otherwise I would have slowed down obviously!) I managed to get petrol from the shell garage at 11.48 and they reckon they clocked me at 48mph in a 40mph area at 11.51...man I must have sped off that forecourt!! Seriously I know the two clocks weren't necessarily the same but they'd have to be pretty close! They must have been on the road just after the roundabout but I have no idea where. If I'd realised I'd been got I'd be slightly less annoyed about it! Plus Lee had offered to drive home then decided he was too tired (ah bless...not!) he might have got the ticket then! 3 points and £60! Haven't sent the relevant stuff off yet - they can wait! Hibster.
Given the potential discrepancy with the clocks (I'm sure the one of the camera HAS to be spot on) I'd ask for a copy of the evidential photo Worth a try Supercheese R250 Caterham pictures here 😬
KayCee
Cheers Paul A friend of mine recommended that too so I think I will write them a letter asking for the evidence. It's stupid they don't provide it, I'm sure if the Police arrested me for I don't know battering Lee or something! and I told them I had an allabi (How do you spell that!!??) but wasn't gonna share it with them it wouldn't go down to well.... yet they can 'accuse' me of speeding without sending proof that it was my car or that their equipment was working ok! KayCee
Dave you probably would have got the ticket by now but if you turn left out of the arms, past the co-op and the chinese you come to a roundabout with a shell garage on it. To get to the Brittania bridge (A5) you go straight over (first exit) past a couple of lay bys where people take photos of the menai bridge etc. I think it's on this road where they got me. Gonna request the photo and information on exactly where they were. Karen
henry21p
Didn't SEE anything. If I recall, Neil and I were later leaving - after lunch. And we left fairly slowly.
