My insurance company for the tow vehicle (Eagle Star) will include the trailer (a new minno) as part of my comp insurance for an extra 58 quid. I get all the benefits of theft/damage/3rd party cover, regardless of where the trailer is, rather than just if it is actually attached to the tow car.
