GrannY OrB TuneR
Daniel Regarding the side doors - would I be correct in assuming high vis side doors with the attached CC mirrors. I have a pair which I have just offered to a fellow blatchatter. If he does not want them you are welcome to have next refusal on them. I can email pics if required. simonpa
You can no longer have the mirrors attached to the doors. I have a couple of SVA posts to attach to the windscreen if you want to borrow them. They take the standard door mirrors. You also need to file down the hinges as they have sharp edges... better not to fit the doors (or hinges) for the SVA ;-)
daniel smith
thanks Simon i would prefer to have no screen fitted at all, as currently using a deflector. I would much appreciate borrowing the stalks if i can attach them directly to the body of my car, how do they fix presently?
AlanB
Hi Daniel, The thread I mentioned on tank alternatives is in Techtalk, started by Tyrone on 1st March. Cheers, Alan
simonpa
Sorry for the delay getting back, Dan, my PC died a few days back and I'm still getting things back The stalks attach using a small bolt/screw that replaces one of the windscreen mounting screws - the ones that attach the screen to the stanchion. If you're going screenless, I assume you mean a JPE/Superlight-style aeroscreen? You could still use the mirror stalks, but they would probably have too small an attachment area to stay up and would end up denting your scuttle. How were you intending to fit the mirrors, if you're not fitting doors? I've also got a pair of SPA mirrors to fit an aeroscreen, if you're interested. daniel smith
hi Simon. I presently have an jpe screen with mirror on stalks screwed into the body. My concern with my mirrors is that they are not large enough for sva approval. Do the spa mirrors you have use convex glass, if so then definately interested. The side mirrors are what I ideally need. I think you are right about not using the original door mirrors as mounting point will be too small.
