captain chaos
I want to remove the footwell extn to place an external dry sump oil tank. Is it easy to do? Is it just a case of removing the rivets and obtaining a plate to cover the end. If anyone has some direct experience of this your tips would be appreciated. EFA
Gary, Get a "proper" exhaust and fit a tank like mine. Or do what Alex did. Be careful with your tank design - the VX loves to use the catch tank otherwise! greg
I've a spare plate - for what its worth, as its only a panel, with the edges turnover, and rivet holes. On the fitting front I've no idea. But I would be interested in your extension panel ? It may be worth sealing it with silcone, as I get water ingress! captain chaos
Greg, You're welcome to my extn panel/s if I can have your spare end panel. I'll mail you my address...is that ok? Arnie, I've just ordered an exhaust and I don't want anymore work at the moment (re-skinning sides and/or cutting more holes in the bonnet!) so this one uses virtually the same hole. Alex has no heater and I need mine, so I don't see an alternative.

Alex Wong1697456877
My car does have a heater. It's powered by hot oil instead of water. Actually, I've been pleasantly suprised that it doesn't heat up the sides of the footwells too much!
Chelspeed
It's easy. Drill out the rivets and remove the old footwell. Fit aluminium angle round the end of the hole using the existing rivet holes, got mine from machine mart for a few quid. Fit a flat peice of ally to the other edge of the angle.
