Pierre Gillet
Can anyone confirm that going from 14" wheels to 13" wheels both shod with 185 60 tyres leads to a 1.25 cm loss of ground clearance. Or is it more complicated than just doing the maths? Also, going for 205 60 at the rear would induce only a 0.5 mm loss! Cheers Pierre
Peter Carmichael
It really does depend. Tyre sizing is approximate at best. The height can vary depending on the rim width and how square they sit on the rim. Sizing on different brands of tyre may not match up. Sizing on the same brand can show inconsistencies. With Avon ACB10s, for instance the 195/50-13 is smaller diameter than the 185/50-13 according to their website.
Pierre Gillet
Thanks Peter. So , I need at minimum to have a look at the A032Rs table. I was thinking/dreaming about the R500 rims... Pierre

murph7355
Pierre - I have R500 rims (6" front, 7" rears though) and have Yoko 32R tyres of the size you note (that have done a couple of hundred miles so are about half worn wink.gif). If you like, I'll get a tape measure out and tell you real world radiuses (won't be able to do this until the weekend though).

Pierre Gillet
Andy, that would be very helpful. In fact, I have been looking at the spec of your car on the Seven Gallery... I will be travelling next week, so that I may not be able to thank you by return. Cheers, Pierre
