Andy G Posted October 14, 2001 Share Posted October 14, 2001 I have just fitted a new caterham supplied silencer to my 1700 xflow and cleaned the carbs. Having taken the car out this weekend I find top end RPM is down from 6250 at full chat to about 5950, is this likely to be the new silencer or the carbs, any suggestions? Dave H Posted October 15, 2001 Share Posted October 15, 2001 I'd blame the carbs to start with. I think you,ve reset or adjusted something while cleaning. Does the throttle cable have full movement? Did you take the carbs off to clean them, if so are they back on properly, not loose or over tight. Do they need balancing up as a pair again?
