Brad Tipp
I've just MOT'd my car again this year, but i'm worrying that I might not get through when the new system comes in next year. My car is a 1999 T that was kit built. It has a 4 into 1 and NO cat. The chaps that have MOT'd it thus far have never even thought of looking at the emissions, but i know that the new system will tell them what to do rather than let them use any judgement. I had thought that my car needed a cat for the SVA, but as it was kit built would not need one for the MOT. Can anyone give me a definitive answer on this please? T 1 PPB - Superlight ...Well yes officer I'm not arguing, it's just that [insert excuse here]...
Dave McCulloch
Brad From memory any kit built car first registered after 1/8/98 has to have a cat fitted and comply with the emissions regs that that entails. Dave
Peter Carmichael
You definitely need a cat for MOT regs.
