Gridgway
Anyone know of the new CR500s are out yet (the ones going to be used on the R400 racers - if I got it right)? Anyone tried them? Graham
Stuart Faulds
They are available, although you might struggle to get hold of some as all the racers snap them up. We'll be doing some testing on an R400 this weekend.
MartinWoodham
There should be plenty around, cos roadspotrs As, Bs and Inters are all using them. I've had mine for about 3 weeks now - track day friday so I'll post some impressions over the weekend. If I can work out how to do an impression of a tyre, that is... frankyknuckles
I've very recently purchased some Cr500's from CC, how do I know if they are the new ones? www.R300.net
Gridgway
I thought they must be stickier and more durable to work on the R400 racers. but that's not logical captain. Graham
Graham Perry
Is there anything on the sidewall that indicates if it is the 'new' version ?
rgrigsby
Yes it has a number on the side something like 12323 (that's probably not right as I only saw them quickly) I think but I can't remeber exactly, confusingly it also still has another compound number on them as well. The 12323 number is in a slightly bigger font whilst the normal style compoung number is quite a bit smaller. Both numbers have a box around them though and are only on one side of the tyre. Stuart Faulds
Previous 'contract number' was 11090 - current is 12312 for 175's and 12313 for 205's. 11090's have green stripe on them when new and 12312/3's have a red one.
Graham Perry
Just taken delivery yesterday 175/55 x 13, mine is 10886 with no stripe. The other number is 1204, so I wonder what that means ?
Stuart Faulds
Graham, are you sure it isn't 10686?

shin.suri
No change in compound, just improved construction according to Avon this gives sharper and better handling. No difference in compund for 13" or 15" tyres. Shin
Kevork
According to Avon, the markings on the new tyres are 12312 and 12313. Cheers, Kevork
