I need to fix some rivnuts to my car for attaching the wings and fitting fuseboxe, ECU, etc. RS do a couple of kits:

1. AVK Blind Threaded Insert Kit, part number 247-7581

2. Tapped Bush Fitting Clinchnut Kit, part number 292-530

Any ideas as to which is the best or correct one to use?

What size rivnuts am I likely to need?

Grim - yep, that's the chap - I got one of his kits last year (or the year before)...

The kit in a bubble-case (i.e. flimsy plastic) with a selection of nuts was about £56 - I found the invoice recently.

Sounds quite expensive - but rivnuts ain't super-cheap, and it was very competitive for the actual tool (I checked the exact model with various other people). Works brilliantly - never given me any concern whatsoever (unlike the Halfrauds rivet tool..)

Agree with Myles, the splined RS Components AVK Rivnuts are very good. I buy them to use in my sheet metal factory as they have a far lower failure rate than the cheap and nasty type Caterham use.
