neil.cavanagh
Right, I'll be leaving Cheltenham around 14:00, going up M5, then M54 followed by A5 through Snowdonia to get me to Angelsey arms for 18:00 or so (depending on traffic and how many Snowdonia squiggly road diversions I take!). Anyone like to meet up en-route??
henry21p
going the same route... just been reviewing the video from the last trip over there to remind myself of some hairy corners...

neil.cavanagh
well after the M54 you have the A5 to play with. Which gets very nice and wiggly at points up at the Angelsey end. Now if weather is good, and we've made good progress there are a couple of detours I know around Betys-coed that take in lots of wiggles and up and downs... SteveB and I did it last easter, and then ChrisB and I on the way back last Sept. Lots of fun! 😬
Hibster.
and don't forget it's the day when most state schools break up for Easter Supercheese R250 Caterham pictures here 😬

neil.cavanagh
Steve, as mentioned I'll be starting from Cheltenham, but if we can meet up as I suggest at the J4 M54 services then the same route should suit us fine! 2 SeVens and a 21 should make a great noise going down pass those stone walls in Snowdonia.... BBBRRRRRRRrrrrrr BBrrrrrrrrrr BrrrBANG PHHUTT PHUUTT SPLUTTER as Steve, I and Dave go through.... 😬 😬 *cool*
Steve-B
no Dave is NOT WELCOME, i don't want to have a boat anchor on a trailer with us-- dave's a jinx..... Steve B Big Black Beast^3 USA 2005: How the West Was Driven

neil.cavanagh
😬 😬 Steve, I think we'll be ok if we don't actually let Dave get in our cars, or touch them too much. Now, if we send him out ahead he should be very good to breaking the policemen's laser guns as he drives pass with his super-jinx.... 😬
Normans_Ghost
Me-thinks that on the busiest day on the roads we should just get there. We can blat around Snowdon on the way back. neil.cavanagh
boring Norman! 😬 😬 I'm hoping to be ahead of the main holiday traffic, and the good roads in Snowdan rarely get that busy. Even if they are you can enjoy the scenery and the noise of the engine bouncing back off the mountains...

henry21p
you think it's noisy in the 7 - wait until you hear my car... especially now that it has the straight through exhaust with no cat.... pity I've lost the induction noise now that I've lost the tb's though. I might be wearing ear plugs on the way over to anglesey and I'm DEFINITELY wearing them on track,
henry21p
oh - and neil - YHM *thumbup* your evil master plan sounds like a fine idea. we'll sort the details out before we get on the road on thursday...
Steve-B
neil the only thing with your timing that bothers me right now is its too late to start up into Snowdonia from the M54 at 1530. you don't want to be doing those roads in the dark. i would recommend 1230 at the same location ❗ Steve B Big Black Beast^3 USA 2005: How the West Was Driven
henry21p
it won't be dark at 15:30 - is still light at 17:30 at the moment. unfortunately the clocks don't change until later that weekend as well.... can't change my timings, as rach can't finish work any earlier OTOH, I've got headlights and driving lamps on the 21 if it gets dark so you can all follow me! Hibster.
and swerve around bits as they drop off, first the odd nut and bolt, then some bits with wires & pipes, then lots of oil and then a cloud of smoke. No one would want to wait in the dark for the RAC Supercheese R250 Caterham pictures here 😬
neil.cavanagh
I'd love to go earlier Steve, but I don't think I could charge the client for a full day if I bugger off at 10am, where as if I go at 1:30ish it will be fine!! 😬 😬 😬 Its not getting dark until 6pm or so now, so we should be in daylight for all/most of it. And Dave, Steve and I both have c. 200w of extra driving lamps in our nose-cones so you might want to follow us... *cool* 😬 as for loud.. I'll be going aeroscreened all the way I think, so ear defenders, or helmet and earplugs will be used!
henry21p
well, with a similar power to weight ratio, we'll be enjoying full windscreen, stereo, huge boot space and much more comfort...
