Hibster.
"it's heavier than those lightweight thingies that you all drive" Many of them drive lardy vehicles that are 50kg heavier than nature intended Supercheese R250 Caterham pictures here 😬

neil.cavanagh
pah! but Dave, you'll have about 30bhp more than me... so that gets rid of the lardy equation. and your aerodynamics are soooo much better. and I'll be driving my car home so won't be trying to break it... and I've only done 4 'track days' (ok and 3 airfield days).... Your just a big girlie blouse... AND I still can't find the party thread you mention... 😬 😬 😬
mav
I'm a bit loathed to start swaping the groups around now. It took me a long time to get where we are now. I know there is a complete novice - never been on track to add into the novice group...

henry21p
ok - got to let you know that I'm not comfortable with it though. I'll manage wherever I'm put, I just don't want to get in the others' way on the day! neil - how much lard does yours weigh again? and with how many hosses? mav
Dave - concern noted. If there is a chance to move you about on the day, then I will.
henry21p
ok - will get back to studying track notes and footage of the track from the last centurian.... only problem is, I don't think the 21 corners like the radicals. I tried studying the footage of the tiger B1, but it kept breaking down. Gary in his BEC was way too fast. hmmm. Some of the lines people took past that bundle of tyres were WAY too close for my liking. It's actually the speed carried into the first corner that worries me after the straight.... if I remember right (and having read the notes), the apex is not quite out of sight round the bend rather. Given what I'm driving, what are "likely" entry and exit speeds there? going to be on not very sticky tyres either....
mav
regular bat boy entry speed is circa 80 - 90 mph Exit speed about 75 -
mav
My maximum entry speed on road tyres in september was 86mph, logged by gps. Max exit speed was infact 67mph by gps
neil.cavanagh
don't worry Dave! everyone is pretty reasonable on these track days! Just keep on eye on your mirrors and if you've got people behind let them through on the next straight. There won't be too many people on the track that you won't be able to find a bit of empty circuit to play with. I've got 140 ponies (shetlands I think) and weight about 550kg in 'race' trim.... then add 100kg of lardy SV driver!! 😬 😬 oh, and 60kg for Dean's sister who will obviously want to 'partner' me all day! 😬 😬
Hibster.
550kg are you 'aving a larf ? Supercheese R250 Caterham pictures here 😬
Hibster.
What spec is your car ?? An ordinaire Roadsport is 550kg and an SV is 50kg more and those figures may be sans heater Supercheese R250 Caterham pictures here 😬

henry21p
well - not weighed it recently, but 640 k's "book" weight and god knows how may k's of me in it and 'bout 172bhp these days.... (god knows how it ended up with hem, I still liked my old 1.6ss)
neil.cavanagh
yawn... are you trying to bait me Mr D? as I said thats in 'race spec'. ie no windsceen or spare wheel, and with small 13" wheels... point was, Dave p-to-w ratio won't be far off mine, so he shouldn't be too worried! 😬 😬 😬
henry21p
got my apollo tank in as well so I don;t get the fear about badgering the engine... nice trophy 160 in there now with LOTS of torque to haul my arse round that track...
Dannyboy
Neil...... Dannyboy
Mav... Sorry about messing up the groups a bit, I realise that you've put a lot of effort in mate.......Was a last minute change of spare driver... 😳> Dannyboy
neil.cavanagh
Danny, can I let you know on friday RE: the wheels? If I can get a set of 032s together from the random selection in my garage that will remain road legal after the track day then I'll run up and back on them. Otherwise, if you could get the GTDs to courier your spare wheels up for me, without putting either yourself of them out too much, that would be great! 😬

neil.cavanagh
Dave, how far are you off the M5/M6 route? We could always try and meet at the services near the end of the M54... do you have an intercom in your car?
